Various types of safe and beautiful rooftop gardening
- Safe installation and availability of various types of rooftop gardening systems
Simple and safe installation is enabled by the adoption of combined waterproofing that is specially designed for rooftop gardening and is suited for use of soil and rooted plants.
In the 21st century, solving the global warming problem is the focus of a great deal of thought and effort worldwide. The "heat island effect,” specific to urban areas, is recognized as a problem, and more people are becoming aware of the importance of re-greening urban spaces. In response to new laws, deregulations, and tax privileges, there is a growing need for the establishment of a system for simple-but-reliable greening and waterproofing.
Dyflex has easily overcome past challenges such as the need to reduce weight, minimize water retention and improve drainage, and has dramatically improved the safety of waterproofing layers, which have in the past been obstacles to progress in rooftop gardening. We can offer very advanced systems.

Outstanding waterproofing functions
| Provide all functions necessary for rooftop gardening |
| Adaptation to the base |
Can be applied to newly built or renovated buildings with bases of various shapes. |
| Resistance to root penetration |
The waterproofing layer is strong enough to show excellent resistance to root penetration. |
| Seamless |
The seamless and high-density waterproofing coating allows no leakage, even under high hydrostatic pressures. |
| Low weight |
The thin and lightweight waterproofing layer (several kg per m2) exerts a lower load on the building structure than conventional coatings. |
| Resistance to cracking |
Flexibility means that cracks, new or old, in the base cause no damage to the waterproofing layer. |
| Maintenance |
No troublesome base maintenance is necessary, since the old layer can simply be overlaid and unified with a new waterproofing layer. This reduces the life cycle cost and cost of repairs. |
| Durability |
There is almost no deterioration due to heat or ultraviolet rays, since the surface is covered with soil. With regard to mechanical deterioration, flexibility in fitting to the base is outstanding and durability is high. |
| Resistance to germs and chemicals |
FRP has resistance to bacteria and is not affected by chemicals. A durability of 20 years or more has been achieved in underground pits. Like FRP, polyurea is also used by sewage treatment plants. |
Reduced weight
Dyflex offers a combined waterproofing method in which the waterproofing
materials used are lightweight and show high durability. The use of artificial
lightweight or untreated soil can significantly reduce weight compared
with natural soil, and reduce the thickness needed to 100 - 150 mm.
Water retention and drainage
The plant root mass and soil, both of which have the properties of high water retention, high water drainage and air permeability, ensures that rooftop gardens have the water necessary for plant growth in spite of the dry environment characteristic of rooftops. The amount of labor, such as irrigation control is minimized.

The soil used is made of the best stable humic soil and charcoal, which are collected from the Chinese highlands at an altitude of about 3500 m (there are several billion tons of reserves). Dyflex offers an ideal plant-growing system for rooftop gardening with reduced weight due to less soil thickness, at a low price.
