Range of guarantees spanning 10 to 30 years
- Major reduction in life cycle cost; new and longer types of waterproofing guarantees available
The combined waterproofing which Dyflex produces includes a basic 10-year guarantee. Now, with more choice of materials available, method grades and scientific quality control, Dyflex can offer insurance-included guarantees for periods of 10, 15, and 30 years.

In the VD method, the top coating needs to be repainted every 10 or 15 years.
* For other combined waterproofing types, the guarantee period is basically 10 years.
Scientific quality control
The procedure for scientific quality control depends on the applied method of the Values [VA method (10 years), VS method (15 years), and VD method(30 years)].
VA method
 |
| Mechanized construction |
Visual checking |
| Material quality is controlled by mechanized construction, which produces an even and high-quality coating. |
Progress of construction is visually checked on the basis of the relationship
between translucent materials applied to the base and degree of transparency
of patterns on the base (that is, how clearly the patterns on the base
can be seen). |
 |
 |
|
| Nondestructive measurement of film thickness |
| The quality of the waterproofing layer is checked using a nondestructive method, in which the thickness of the layer can be measured using a probe placed on the layer. Unlike conventional measurements, the thickness can be checked without piercing or damaging the waterproofing layer. |

| From glue to top coating, no solvents are used. This avoids potential problems such as risk to health and odors, both for workers and neighboring residents. |
A polyethylene bag is placed inside each container, enabling reuse of containers, minimizing the disposal cost, and contributing to preservation of the global environment. |

The VS method (15 years) |
 |
In addition to quality control of the VA method… |
 |
| As in the VA method, the accuracy of the film’s thickness is examined by pinhole checking after performing scientific quality control. Pinhole checking is performed using conductive materials on the surface of the improved asphalt and the electrical insulation properties of urethane. It detects defects, if any, by applying a high voltage and very low current to the surface. Pinhole checks can make the waterproofing layer more reliable. |

 |
|
The VD method (30 years) |
 |
In addition to quality control of the VA and VS methods… |
 |
 |
| The coating of the urethane waterproofing material is made by mixing two liquids (the base compound and the curing agent) together. Because of this, the properties of the coating directly depend on the degree of mixing and stirring. The rapidly hardening urethane waterproofing material is basically controlled by the automatic spray system. However, the introduction of a flow monitoring system has enabled more sensitive control of the material, allowing its full potential to be realized. |
As a regular ‘health checkup’, the waterproofing layer is checked periodically. Regular maintenance is systematized using the VD method, which enables early detection and repair of any defects. Dyflex has established a system which offers reliable follow-up services to keep your building in optimal condition. |
